I'm wondering how Chechyans killing Russian schoolchildren turned into America bashing....

I tend to Blame the Russian government for the way in which they treated the Chechnyans which caused them to terrorise the Russians. If they just gave them their soverignty back when they were letting all the other countries to go free, then there wouldn't have been any problems but now there's semi-constant attacks like this one and the one in the theatre a couple years back.
PS: (I'm not saying that I condon what the terrorists did but I'm just saying that they are not the only ones to blame in this horrible event.)

By this thought, giving Palestinians their land back would then end the war in Isreal... Does anyone think that would work? I highly doubt it.

The Russians, after the fall of the USSR, released other formerly soveriegn nations that were "taken over" by the Soviets during their rule. Chechnya was never it's own country, always a part of the Russian Republic, not a territory seized by the Soviets. This makes a difference, and you can probably understand why allowing a piece of a country to secede can be destabling, and set precedent for more rebellion.
