I'm not just talking about the comments of one lame ass American player, I'm talking about them all.
Are the players going to take pay cuts to make the game more enjoyable to us fans?
Are the players really giving their all, night in and night out, for 82+ games a year, to make the on ice product the best it can be?
Are the players really trying to prevent a lockout?
Do they really give a fuck about us anymore?

Some players like Nieminen care about the fans and even more about the game. However its mostly the guys who make a lot like McCabe Yashin Jagr Bure Holik Lindros and pretty much every other high salary guy (except Iginla) who are just playing for the $$. Most of the lower salary guys tend to be playign for the love of the game and hope that there isn't a lockout. Personally I hope this gets resolved quickly so I can go back to chanting GO FLAMES GO and the first opportunity I can.

But the actions of two NHL superstars (I use the term loosely when refering to these two) isn't what the NHL needs right now. It's already becoming a cult sport. How does it look when pieces of shit like Hull and Jagr both have hissy fits in a big tournament sponsored by the NHL. Bettman should fine and suspend both.
To answer your first question, there are guys who love the fans. Iggy, Yzerman, and Linden come to mind right away. But for every one of those players, we have ten Hull's and Jagr's. It's not just in this sport the stars don't care about the fans, it certainly can be said the same of actors and musicians. Anything involving money and ego can bring out the worst in people. We've seen this for years, just now we aren't so sheltered from it

I don't agree with Linden. If he truly did care about the fans, he'd try much harder to convince the players to take a pay cut. Every player in the league respects Linden. He is currently the third most powerful man in hockey as the president of the NHLPA.
