Only for 2 weeks, but still. It's a freakin Off-Topic forum. Why don't they just have "Off-Topic" anything hockey related, anything remotely different will get you banned. It's getting pretty ridiculous. I think I'm done over there. The mods have a serious problem now that there is no hockey. I might have a few more posts there, but that's just to promote this board. ;D

You know, I just don't get it!! If starting non-hockey related threads is grounds for suspension, then why is my Valentine thread still unlocked? Granted, WOM has started a number of threads in the last week but damn it, there's no hockey, we've beaten the CBA to death what else shall we talk about? The price of burkas in Iraq??

yea, it is pretty stupid. Before these "update rules" the off topic forum used to be a place where you could have hilariousness plus some other topics two. I was just making my way into the chat threads too.

It's not the non hockey related threads. It's not compairable to the valentine's thread either. And it has nothing to do with the amount of threads he created either (otherwise I would be gone). The reason WOM got banned is for continuing to create the exact same thread wich the mod's had to lock over and over.

It's the Off-Topic forum though, why do the threads need to be hockey related? It's not like we are the people on the Nucks board, we are good people (well.....) it's just ridiculous that it has to be like that.

I still think they're making a mistake not allowing even one chat-like thread in the forum, especially when there's no hockey around. I mean how many fucking CBA-related issues can we muse over at nauseam. But WOM knew what he was doing. He was warned more than once. I think he wanted to piss of the mods

A chat thread or two is really no big deal. A few people complained I suspect, prolly those who felt they weren’t welcome in those threads for whatever reason. Who knows. Either that or the mods are in total micro management mode, since there is no hockey and they have nothing better to do.

WOM was only banned for a couple of weeks. He was being pretty defiant though. The mods asked him to stop creating the music threads and he kept on making em. A little time out won’t hurt him.

And you're right Drak, a few people did complain about the chat threads. What pisses me off is these people alienated other members by being opinionated and insulting other posters when they didn't agree with their viewpoint. Then they expect to be welcomed in chat threads

Yah that's what I suspected. There were a few people that were pretty nasty to others when I first joined up. Can't be a total wad then expect to be treated like a basket of roses.

I could've cared less if I got banned. If I worried about being banned, I would'nt have made the same kind of thread countless times (though each thread slightly varied from each other concept wise).
