The book "Point of Impact" by Stephen Hunter, along with "Vertical Run" by Joseph R. Garber, both caused me to lose many precious hours of sleep. I am a book junky, and I love these two books more than any other. I used to work in a bookstore, and I was recomended these by a co-worker. Best choices I have ever made. I STRONGLY suggest trying these books. They are page-turners of the highest caliber, give them a shot people. I also, years ago, thouroughly enjoyed the Dragon Lance series of books. Loved the Raistlin character. Also loved the Dark Elf series, still buy the books to this day. The Dark Tower series of books, again, one of my favorites, love the first book the most. Will read and re-read it over and over, from time to time. Also, from when I was a boy, Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl. I read that to my kid and it brought back a world to me I had all but forgotten about. Most of the Roald Dahl books are amazing. Finally, the book that basically tells my elementary school life story is "A Bundle of Sticks" If anyone remembers it, you know me.

Favourite books eh? I don't read a lot 'cept when we have to do novel studies and stuff but the ones I've read and actually liked are: The Giver The Outsiders Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet Into Thin Air

Is Grapes of Wrath any good? I have to buy it for English, but if it isn't then I will just use someone else's.

Best two books of the last month:
The Hiram Key (Pharoahs, Freemasons, and the Discovery of the Secret Scrolls of Jesus) by Christopher Knight & Robert Lomas and The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh & Henry Lincoln. The latter is is also about Freemasonry, the Knights Templar and the Cathar heretics of the 12th and 13th centuries. Quite the eye openers!!

I just finished reading the Jesus Mysteries. Interesting book for those interested in a mythicism perspective on Christ.

I have it on order at the local bookstore, Drak and can't wait to read it! Although brought up a Christian, I am not a blindly led one and these types of books fascinate me! Have you ever read "The Bible As History" by Werner Kelly? (did I ask you this before? ) Fascinating stuff but a step away from the mythicism perspective of the Christ stories! I'm re-reading it as my mind is boggled from reading quotes from the Torah and the Talmud to substantiate the debate about The Hiram Key on CDC! lol Much lighter reading if I do say! "Werner Keller's justly famous ten million copy bestseller was first published in 1955 and lightly revised in a 1980 second edition. His informed-but-not-stuffy approach to the history and archaeology of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible have deservedly made this book popular in the best sense. He devotes twenty-eight chapters to the OT, ten good chapters to the NT, and six to the period between. He covers some exciting discoveries which are little recounted now, such as T.J. Wood's heroic recovery of the scene of the riot caused by Paul in Ephesus at the Temple of Artemis. Although the book is necessarily dated now (eg, he thinks Abraham could not have possessed camels - but science has moved some dates back), it is still packed with information, excellent value, and a good read."
