I never said marijuana wasn't addictive. However, it's long-term effects aren't exactly nil. THC in the brain, respiratory problems, greater risk of heart attacks, weakening of the immune system, etc. are some of the effects. That's what I've been getting at. Exactly right. Those who say it has no long effects are fooling themselves. I know potheads in their 50's who have been smoking it almost every day since they were young and their long term memory is shot badly. Their behviour is quite erratic at time too. Anything in excess for a long amount of time is damaging

Anything in excess for a long amount of time is damaging It doesn't matter if weed is in 'excess' or not. Any given amount is too much. Weed is a drug, just like ecstasy, speed, etc., etc., it does harm to your body regardless if you've took it in once, twice, or for all your life. I voted that it was a bad thing. That one bout of hallucinations is not worth fucking up your body and brain.

My ex-girlfriend found out the hard way, she started, and pretty soon, she was hangin out with the wrong crowd, gettin high in school, and pretty soon, she wound up in juvenile detention...it's a shame

Anything in excess is too much though. Ahh, and taking one puff from a joint is going in excess. Like I said, it's drug...and any drug will fuck up your brain and body. I know I'm exaggerating how one puff will do you so much harm but I've always been anti-drug and always will be.

Your correct when you say Weed is a drug, however it is nothing like speed nor ecstacy, take it from someone that has smoked pot on a daily basis for 4 years. Those who call marijunana a hallucinigant (sp) is a complete and total idiot. Needless to say, I quit smoking pot due to the fact that it interfered with my aspirations of becoming a pilot, obviously the two do not go hand in hand. I used to get high all the time, for whatever it may be. Before playing hockey I would get high as hell because it made the game more fun, for some reason it made me angry, which inturn helped me play a lot better. I smoked it before going to movies, smoked it before going to school, you name it. So why is pot bad? Well, for me it changed my lifestyle. It often made me lazy, and absolutely killed my motivated and ambitious mind. Is pot a bad thing to do casually? Perhaps not, but I can gaurantee you it's bad for your mental life if it's something you get caught up in for the long run...

It's not a hullucinogen, but with the kind of crap they put inside weed now it very well can be for some people. Weed, like alcohol or any other drugs, can have a very bad effect on a person. Most people get the usual symptons, but Ive seen some have really bad "trips" (for lack of a better word) Like myself

Bump, people are perfectly capable of turning any drug that's supposedly only suppose to get you 'high' into a hallucinogen. I'm positive that people are capable and have made weed into a hallucinogenic drug.

Lots of people on weed get really paranoid and think everyone is out to get them. So that's sort of a form of hullicinating

I firmly disagree. Mind you, I don't know what kind of stuff they put in it, in Vancouver...

Because so many people do it so often here, like any other drug they need more of a kick to get the same high. So they put about any other kind of drug you can think of in the weed here. I know of a few people who smoke what they thought was just weed and ended up tripping out for eight hours. It's a scarey drug in this city. You Albertans are lucky
